Oasis Behavioral Health Hospital recently held a “topping out” ceremony, marking the official midpoint of the facility’s expansion efforts.
Phase One of the two-step expansion added new underground retention tanks and updated storm drainage and parking areas. The construction process is currently in Phase Two, which includes a two-story building expansion to the existing facility.
Topping out ceremonies are a builders’ rite that are traditionally held when a final beam is placed atop a structure or, as is the case with the Oasis Behavioral Health Hospital expansion, when a project is at the halfway point.
When Phase Two is completed in 2023, Oasis Behavioral Health Hospital will have 52 new beds as well as site utility upgrades and industry-specified fixtures and finishes added to the 33,000-square-foot complex. The larger space will allow the facility to meet the growing need for mental health services in and around Phoenix and central Arizona.
Adolfson & Peterson Construction, a national, family-owned construction management and contracting company, is overseeing the expansion.
